Healthy vegan RECIPES: Ironmaxx 100% pea proteins & Battery almond butter reviews

It’s been a good few months now that I’ve focused on healthier eating, which for me means eating way less sugar (hey, I’m an ex Kinder Bueno addict) and less meat, of which I wasn’t really a fan, to begin with.  The main thing for me now is eating mostly organic and plant-based foods with a lot of nuts and healthy fats, but as you’ll be able to see further on in this post, I still like sweets, they’re just a little bit healthier now. Since I was always skinny, the changes I’ve made derive only from a health perspective and to tell you the truth, I eat what I eat just because I feel great and I genuinely prefer how everything tastes. Before all of this though, one of my favorites, that I had put in shakes and porridge and everywhere in between, was chocolate whey protein. I since switched to pea proteins that are vegetarian and vegan-friendly.

Ironmaxx vegan-friendly pea protein powder and Battery almond butter

I found Ironmaxx 100% pea protein powder on a store that I was pleasantly surprised to see also sells vegan-friendly products. Why are pea proteins a better choice? Well, I’m not sure whether they are or aren’t, but all I know is that pea proteins are a better choice for vegans and lactose intolerant people because they do not contain dairy. If you’re not vegan, pea proteins are still a great choice if you’re looking for proteins that will help you recover after a workout. And yes, they are a complete protein. As far as I know, they are available in one flavor – Peanut butter, which I love, because I’m a big fan of nut butter.

And speaking of butter, I also got a jar of Battery Almond butter. What can I say, it’s an almond butter, so I’m pretty sure you know what to expect if you decide to buy it. It is worth mentioning though, that it’s 100% almonds, meaning it contains NO added salt, sugar, palm oil and preservatives. Definitely a great and healthy choice!

Bellow I prepared for you a few ways of incorporating these two products into your diet, to maybe help some of you with this week’s meal planning.

1. HEALTHY START OF THE DAY – Porridge with almond butter

Vegan Porridge with almond butter Almond butter available on!

Great (vegan) start of the day – with a heart-warming bowl of goodness

1 serving of porridge oats or instant oats
(Lately, I’ve been using some amazing porridge by the brand RosengartenAyurveda Porridge Recharge and Vegan Plus.)
150ml of Almond milk, which you heat and mix with oats
1 tsp of Battery Almond Butter – you can mix it in with warm milk or add at the end
Fruit of choice, but I do love some blueberries, strawberries or banana.

2. AFTER WORKOUT SNACK – Greek yogurt with protein powder

Hygge = Cosiness No words needed here. Switch Greek yogurt for a plant based one for a vegan version.

1 cup of Greek yogurt (0%) or any plant based yogurt like the coconut one (I just didn’t have one at home).
1 serving of Ironmaxx 100% pea protein powder in peanut butter (Mix it with yogurt for a unique taste and for your protein intake.)
Fruit of choice (Of course I chose blueberries and strawberries because I like them and they are in season, but add anything you like.)
Seeds (I used mix seeds to garnish but you could also add some coconut flakes or cacao nibs for example.)

Bonus: Protein shake
P.S.: You can always get your protein intake with a simple and delicious shake, which come in handy after a workout or when you’re on the go. Blend together half an avocado, half a banana, a serving of protein powder, a tsp of almond butter, a dash of almond milk, raw cacao and water. Voilà!

3. ENERGY BOOST: Protein balls

For when you lack energy – vegan protein balls save the day!

1/2 cup ground Almonds
1 cup of ground Oats
1/4 cup of ground Flax seed
3 tbsp of Almond milk
dash of vanilla extract
1 cup dried Dates
2 tbsp of Raw cacao
2 tbsp Coconut oil
1/2 cup Battery Almond Butter
2 tbsp of Ironmaxx Pea Protein Powder in Peanut butter

Ground your almonds, flax seed, oats, and dates in a food processor ( I have a small food processor so I had to do each ingredient separately), then combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl (Mix almonds, oats, flax seed and add almond milk, vanilla extract, dates, cacao, coconut oil, almond butter and protein powder.) Get your hands in there and mix everything together until you get a giant ball of goodness. Then start rolling smaller balls and put each ball on a baking sheet you set aside earlier. When you’re done, store the balls in the fridge for a couple of hours or overnight and then enjoy this yummy and simple delicacies.
