How to Wrap a Gift in a Unique & Elegant way

How to Wrap a Gift in a Unique & Elegant way
Spread the love

Today I wanted to share with my idea on how toย wrap a gift in a unique and elegant way. It is easy yet elegant and anyone can do it!

What you’ll need:

1x empty shoe box
1x scissors
1x double sided tape
1x a selection of gift wrapping paper
1x ribbon
1x string
2x tissue paper of choice
1x home-made cookie

If you are interested in this easy step-by-step, please keep on reading.

For a more interesting look try mixing different wrapping papers. I bought mine in IKEA during the summertime, but as you can see, it works really nice in the holiday season, as well. Ikea usually has a good selection of wrapping paper, plus you can buy them in sets, which is great.

Start by finding an empty shoe box around your house. ๐Ÿ™‚ Prepare everything that you may need for the gift wrapping. If you have any tissue paper stored from your shopping sprees, you can use that (as I have), or you can purchase one that you like most.

Tape the tissue paper onto the bottom and the sides of your box. This first layer serves as a cover-up. I then added an additional layer of tissue paper in soft pink, which was the layer that actually made the gift inside look more presentable and pretty.

On the right, you can see my gift wrapping paper set from Ikea. Measure the sides of the box and cut your two papers into pieces. Then proceed to cover each and every side of the box, so that you end up covering up almost the whole surface.

Since my box was a nice muted-pink colour, I’ve decided to leave a slight part of the edge of the box uncovered. I think it looks more interesting with a colour block.

Once you’ve covered the box, proceed by taping down the ribbon. I’ve taped it only on the box cover. That way you the box still functions as one and can be reused afterwards.

In the end, all you need to do is tie a string around the box and attach a cookie (which you’ve preferably made) to it and you are done. Since it’s the holiday season, I baked the gingerbread cookies, which I think shows an additional attention to details. But of course, you could always attach a nice name tag instead of a cookie and it would look just as nice.

I am very pleased with the way this turned out. I think it looks elegant but still simple, which is what I like.

I hope you liked this quick and easy How to. Please send me photos, if you decide to recreate my gift wrapping idea.

Happy Holidays! xx

Loved this wrapping tip! I suck at gift wrapping, Iโ€™m literally the worst. Or it also might be because I leave everything at so last minute that Iโ€™m unable to concentrate haha.

Looks beautiful! I tend to use old-wrapping paper and combine it as good as I can, because let’s be honest – the wrapping only lasts for some seconds until it’s thrown away by the person, who got the gift! ๐Ÿ™‚
